This recipe will take you 5 minutes to mix up and about 50 minutes in the oven, so consider yourself about an hour away from something that is absolutely addictive. Use your favorite craft beer to customize to your liking.
3 cups self-rising flour (make your own by adding 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. kosher salt to each cup of all-purpose flour you need)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
12 oz. beer (I used Pub Ale from Tall Grass Brewery)
2 Tbs. melted unsalted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar and beef, stirring just until blended. (Mixture will be rather lumpy – this is fine. Don’t worry.)
Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake, uncovered, on center rack of oven for 45-50 minutes, or until tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from oven and pour melted butter over the top.
Let cool slightly before slicing, if you can wait. Slather each slice with Hildebrand Farms Dairy butter – heavenly.
