Harvest Honey Butter Snack Mix

Harvest Honey Butter Snack Mix

Yep, this is one of those treats that is definitely addictive – the perfect combination of sweet and salty, and once you throw in the “sticky” aspect, you’ve got yourself a brand new bad habit.  This is also a nice snack mix for the holidays – swap out the candy corn for chocolate pieces or peanut butter M & M’s – oh yea, that’s what we’re talkin’ about!

Honey Butter Harvest Snack Mix
1/2 cup Hildebrand Farms Dairy Cinnamon-Sugar Butter
1/2 cup Kansas Foods Wildflower Honey
5 cups of any combination of your favorite cereals (I like using a combination of Rice Chex and Cheerios)
2 cups mini pretzels
2 cups baked cheese crackers
2 cups pecans (can substitute walnuts or use 1 cup each)
1-2 cups candy corn

Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.  In a small sauce pan over medium low heat, melt cinnamon-sugar butter with honey; whisk to combine.  In a large mixing bowl, toss cereals, pretzels, crackers, and pecans and together. Pour honey butter mixture over dry ingredients and toss well; divide mixture between two rimmed baking sheets and spread out into a single layer. Bake for 30 minutes, tossing snack mix every 10 minutes, rotating pans half way through baking time. Remove from oven and immediately spread snack mix out over a large sheet of foil to cool; as snack mix cools, use your fingers to separate as needed, mixing candy corn at this point.  Store in air tight containers for up to 1 week.  Freezes well.
